Brazil vs Argentina to face before World Cup : The date is revealed

 

Before the World Cup in Qatar, the two arch-rivals Argentina-Brazil will face.  The two Latin American powerhouses will play a warm-up match for the World Cup in Melbourne, Australia.  The match between Brazil and Argentina is scheduled for June 11.

The government of the Australian state of Victoria confirmed on Wednesday that the match would be held at the country's iconic Melbourne Stadium.  After almost 5 years, such a football match is going to be held in the stadium with 95 thousand spectators.

"The two most successful football nations in the world are going to face each other again at the Melbourne Cricket Ground," said Martin Pakula, the Victorians' Minister for Sports and Tourism.  Melbourne Cricket Ground is once again hosting a battle between two arch-rivals.  So that we can show the world that it is a great sporting city.

He added, "Football is known as a global sport all over the world.  That's why millions of people will be looking at Melbourne to watch this match.  At the same time, thousands of tourists will gather in Victoria.

Earlier, in September last year, Brazil and Argentina faced each other in Sao Paulo, Brazil.  The World Cup qualifier was called off just one minute later on the pretext of violating the Corona Protocol.

However, Brazil and Argentina have already qualified for the World Cup.  With this match in June, Australia wants to give a double gift to Messi and Neymar before the World Cup.

Five years ago, in 2016, Argentina-Brazil met at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.  La Albiceleste left the field with Messi's only goal in that match.  Earlier, Argentina also lost 1-0 to host Australia.
