Maradona's 'Hand of God' jersey sold at a world record!

 


Diego Maradona's famous 'Hand of God' jersey was sold at skyrocketing prices.  The jersey was later used by the Argentine legend in the 1986 World Cup goal against England.

Maradona's jersey sold for a world record à§® 9.28 million at the Sotheby's auction in London on Wednesday.  News from Andulo Agency.

The highest selling jersey ever played at a match was a record  5.64 million.  In 2019, Ruth's New York Yankees jersey, worn during the 1928-1930 season, was sold at this price.

Maradona's jersey has surpassed everything in the record of selling at the highest price of any sports memorabilia.  The handwritten Olympic manifesto for 2019 sold for 8.8 million in New York.

The Hand of God goal is the famous goal of the 1968 World Cup in which Maradona beat England goalkeeper Peter Shilton by flicking his hand close to his head.  The late legend helped Argentina win the World Cup quarter-finals with a pair of goals in that match.

After the match, Maradona admitted to scoring with his hands, saying, "That was part of Maradona's hand and part of God's hand.
